Ohgami A-litter: Ch Rex Ventors OkaLani x Ch Kangelanis Gentle Thanzi by Clay (Born January 29th 2010)

Thanzi - sire of our A-litter Thanzi - sire of our A-litter

8 gorgeous puppies were born January 29th 2010. We had 7 boys and 1 girl, one boy has multiple crowns. One correct male put to sleep due to weakness at the age of 10 days. No other faults in the litter.
I’m very glad about this combination since the pedigree is a true mix of some outstanding dogs. Some of my absolute favorites are in both pedigrees and mixing them is going to be very exciting.

Our Lani was born in a litter consisting of 12 puppies; they were 6 boys and 6 girls. Lani was chosen because of her outgoing attitude and easy gate. She is a super sound girl with a lovely easy-going temperament and very sound conformation. Lanis’ dame Rex Ventors Iyeliz is also from a very healthy and even litter, where all the siblings are scored with hips A and 0/0 elbows, all siblings are mentality tested and gunshot proof and four out of seven are show champions. All of Iyeliz littermates including our own boy Ch RV Ikaros are very easy to work with and make great family dogs.
Lani has so far been healthy with no kind of sicknesses. She is X-rayed with hips A and elbows 0/0 and so are eight siblings as of yet. Lani has also been mentality tested and is gun shoot proof with the best possible score (grade 1).

Lani’s pedigree consists of some of the world's most successful dogs. Her great grand-sire Multi BIS/BISS Am Ch, BIS Canadian Ch, Multi BIS IABCA Ch Wetu of Kalahari ROM "Woody" was top RR in the US year 2000 and is 10 x AKC All breed Best in Show-winner. He made RR history by winning the Hound Group at the Westminster Kennel Club show in 2002. He also won the 2002 Western Hound Show in California.

Lani’s grand sire Ch Masithela's Famous Akinzo by Woody was Top RR male in Norway 2004 and has been awarded Nordic Winner 2002 and Norwegian Winner 2004. Akinzo's dam N DK Ch Ami Sariba won the Nordic Winner title in 1998, Norwegian Winner in 2002 and was top RR bitch in Norway in 1999. Lani’s great grand dame Bearstar Diamond Willow was top RR bitch in Sweden 1998, 1999 and 2000 and top RR in 2001. Her sire Australian Grand Ch Bearstar Ko is one of the biggest top winners and top producing males in Australian history and her dam Aust Grand Ch Bearstar Chilean Willow is the only multi Best in Show-winning bitch at all breed level in Australia.
Lani’s sire Kinyemi Fora C´Huluku “Luku” is the son of Multi Ch Chipangali's Kadani, who is also the sire of our Ch RV Haranyo. On Lukus side are his dame Ch Kinyemi Anzi A'Fora (top Danish bitch 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 & 2004), Luku’s handsome grandsire Multi Ch Aakemba's King Astor Gi'Fumo (Top Swedish RR 1996, 1999 & 2000) and grand-dam Zumeli's Anzika (National Specialty BOS-winner from veteran's class).

Lani herself has had an amazing show-career with achievements way beyond our expectations. She was bought with the purpose of hopefully being our foundation bitch and her show career has been a big plus in the margin that we are very grateful over. At her very first show she was Best In Show puppy out of 340 puppies. In junior class she won 3 CC:s  including two BOS placement and at almost every show she attended she was placed in best bitch and awarded champion quality. At the World Winner Specialty show under breed specialist Mrs. Sue Simper of Matabelle Kennel Lani was awarded Best in show Junior. She won her fourth CC at the prestigious winter show in Stockholm (Stora Stockholm) in 2008 and finished her Swedish champion title at the earliest possible date, 2 years and 1 day of age, by going Best in Show at the RR Club West Specialty. She also topped the day off by winning Best head and Best ridge! She has since then won two more Best of breeds and a group win.

The sire of this litter is Nordic, Swedish, Danish, Estonian, Latvian and Norwegian champion, Finnish winner-08, Nordic winner-08 Kangelanis Gentle Thanzi By Clay BISS-08. Thanzi lives an active life in Norway with his owner Marit and the rest of the pack. He is a treasured family member charring his life with RR-brother Chango and kids. Marits 5 year old daughter Amalie and Thanzi are very successful in the show rings often competing in “Child with dog-competitions”.

Thanzi comes from the very successful G-litter from Kangelani kennel in Norway. I have since their birth been following this very even litter. His litter consists of eight correct puppies where six of them finished their titles in a very early and impressive way. Remaining two are also CC-winners so it’s just a matter of time before they also have their titles. I have to mention that some of my now living favorite girls (expect from Lani;) is from this litter and I have meet several of them in real life. They are all known for their outstanding mentality being lovely family members.

Also Thanzis´s pedigree is one of superb quality, where each and every individual has left an impact on the RR society.  His father is the world famous SA ZIM Ch Globe's Roving Red Regent aka Clay. Clay was the first American-bred Ridgeback to earn a South African Championship as well as the first to obtain his Zimbabwe championship. Clay was a Multi Best in show winner and the number one ridgeback in South Africa in 1992, number 4 all-bred dogs. Clay is one of the top-winning brown nose Ridgebacks in the history of the breed.
Thanzis grand sire is US Ch Royalton’s Blue Max and his grand dame is US Ch Globes Calila Toi Soldier. Max was Reserve Winners Dog at the 1989 National Specialty in California and a Group Placer. Toi was a group placer and multi-Best of Breed winner. A lot of info on Toi and Clay is to be found at Globes kennel.

On Thanzi’s maternal side we have his dame Int, Nordic Ch, Copenhagen Winner-04 Kamba Anatulinda`s E`zena and grand dame is Australian import Int, Nordic Ch Sixemm Kissedby Anangel.

As mentioned earlier Lani is healthy with a very pleasant and outgoing attitude. Our girl Emmie and Lani have a very special relationship growing up together, they enjoy each other’s company tremendously. These are also assets that I value highly since my primary goal is to breed healthy, friendly and outgoing pups that will make excellent family members.

I have no doubt in my mind that the combination between Lani and Thanzi will not only give us excellent family members but also beautiful and sound ridgebacks that will make their mark in the future.

I want to thank Thanzi´s owner Marit for giving me this opportunity.
