A new year full of new possibilities!
2011 went by fast! And my guess is that 2012 will go by even faster. At Ohgami kennel we are very happy to receive all good news from over beloved puppy families. Our A-pups are doing excellent giving their families lots of love and happiness. We had a tough year losing our precious boy Ikaros and that has also been a reason for our somewhat absence from the doggy world. Ikaros has been and still is deeply missed.
However 2012 will hopefully turn things around and at the moment we are eagerly waiting for Lani to start her heat. Our hope is that Lani will go into heat in January and give birth to our B-litter in March.
We want to thank all our puppy families for taking such excellent care of their dogs. You guys are doing a really good job and we are so proud of you! Lots of hugs to Aston, Amarouk, Asker, Akani Diezel, Aksu, Armourel Rudo and Alice!

Field tracking!
We had great success in the woods this weekend. Our youngsters Asker, Aston and Alice went to a field tracking course and did a great job with their owners. They also had a change to take the aptitude test and all three passed with flying colors. Also Astrid attented (Bellus Attitude Astrid, daughter of our boy Ikaros) and managed a first prize in open class field tracking. Very well done and congrats to proud owners! A couple of photos in the 2011 gallery.
I have added some new photos from our date with Alice and Asker this weekend. Photos in the 2011 Gallery.
Aksu sent us some photos of him and his little brother Lauri :) Photos here
This weekend Ohgami kennel had a debut in the show ring. Our handsome Amarouk has been in Norway for vacation and of course they had to go to the International show in Trondheim to try their luck and to debut in the show ring. Amarouk behaved beautifully (I did not expect anything else ;) and was awarded Exc and champion quality. In best male he was placed as 4th best male with Res CC! Only one placement behind the CC was an excellent achievement in heavy competition. Best male 2 was Amarouks sire Ch Kangelanis Gentle Thanzi by Clay. Congrats all involved for an excellent start!
In Sweden I decided to go to the national show in BorÄs along with Aston and Alice and their families. The show was judges by Mrs Barbara Ruth Smith and breed entry was 34. Aston
was Exc 4/6 in his class. The judge noticed that he has had a little bit too
much Filet mignon lately ;)
Alice was Exc 2/8 with champion quality and made the final cut. I’m very proud
and amazed that my only girl in the litter was fully correct and is doing so well
in the show rings (and outside;). Out of five shows she has constantly been placed top three
with champion quality despite her young age. Could not have dreamed that the
only girl would do so well. She is developing beautifully.
Thanks all for an excellent day, I'm so proud of you! And thank you Victoria for my surprise. I just love it :)
Our Norwegian boy Ohgami loves Armourel Rudo is free on hips and elbows :) Happy and proud, good job Silje and Rudo!!!
Lots of new photos in the Summer 2011 gallery. Take a look!
Our boy Diezel has his own website! Good job Jenny and Joakim! Visit here
RR Club West 2 X Specialty show in TÄnga Hed May 14-15th 2011.
After picking up Anna Wright and her handsome male Cirre (Hamnuddens kennel) in Gothenburg on Friday evening, I was really looking forward to a lovely weekend of showing and hanging with all the RR friends again. RR Club west had for a long time planned a double show with judges invited from Ireland, UK and the US and now it was time for this big event.
Saturdays show had a total entry of 125. Bitches where judges by Cath Davies, Imola kennel, UK and males by Eddie Patterson, Rocksham Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Ireland.
Sundays show had a total entry of 114 and where judged by Denise Tatro and Harold Tatro, USA.
I was to handle our Alice whom was debuting in official classes and also our Aston. Both dogs where entered in open class despite being 16 months. Hard to keep track on ages here and there ;) As they were entering in the same class and the judging was in two rings it was quite a challenge to run between the rings but thanks to excellent ring secretaries there was no problems and we were in time for our judgments.
Alice, the little statue, was awarded excellent and much to my surprise she was the picked out for placement amongst 15 beautiful bitches. When being placed Exc 3 with champion quality I was very happy. Aston had no intention to give sister Alice the best placement so he strutted his stuff to an Exc 2 with champion quality out of 20 open class males!!! He really enjoys being feed meatballs by G’ma ;)
After the show, the club had organized a very nice mingle offering drinks and food to the exhibitors. A much appreciated initiative! :) With pleasing results and an excellent day in the sun I, Anna and Cirre headed home for some Thai, wine and the Eurovision song contest.
On Sunday Aston was awarded excellent but had to see himself unplaced in the class. Alice however showed off all the way to Exc 2 with champion class. Exc 1 was Jelanis Beautiful Blenda and she was later also best bitch. Biggest congrats to breeder/owner (and our no 1 midwife;) Emma Hedenskog, Jelanis kennel.

Congrats to all the winners, see you next time! We had a great weekend :)
