Our Ikaros...
Our wonderful boy Ikaros is no longer with us. Ikaros injured his back a while ago and on December 2nd we had to take the very hard decision to put him to sleep. We will always love you Ikaros, you where my baby...

 

Ikaros, where to start?
He is a very outgoing boy with a wonderful temperament. He’s very keen, has an expression as few and is very funny. There is always something happening when Ikaros is around.

Ikaros is from a very exciting pedigree, combining many top awarded RR’s of super quality. Ikaros' dam Ch Bearstar Diamond Willow is Rex Ventors foundation bitch and she was top winning RR bitch in Sweden for four consecutive years. Ikaros' grand-sire Aust Grand Ch Bearstar Ko is a top winning Australian male with no less than 26 champion progeny. Grand-dam "Chilli", Aust Grand Ch Bearstar Chillean Willow was also a top producing brood bitch on top of being a Best in Show-winner. On his sire's side, Ikaros also has some outstanding dogs. His sire Ch Masithela's Famous Akinzo by Woody was top winning RR-male in Norway 2004 and is out of famous USA Top RR Ch Wetu of Kalahari "Woody" and Norwegian top winning bitch Ch Ami Sariba.

Ikaros’ litter is of very even quality with some excellent fronts, ribcages, angles and nice movement overall. All six show quality pups in the litter have been awarded "champion quality" at champ shows and 3 of Ikaros sisters are top winning champions. Health- and temperament wise, the litter is also very even. All seven have been x-rayed and all have grade A hips and 0/0 elbows. All seven puppies in the litter have also been mentality tested and 6 with grade 1 gunshot proofness (the top score) and 1 with grade 2 (gunshot proof). Considering the overall quality of the I-litter, we think that Ikaros will be a valuable asset to the breed as a stud dog. We hope he will pass on the qualities of his ancestors.

Already as a junior Ikaros made his mark in the show ring. From his first four outings he won his class every time and was awarded 2x honours prize and 2x champion quality. As Ikaros has matured, he had a handful of very close sniffs at the first CC, before finally winning that CC in grand style, going best male and BOS at the Sofiero RR Club specialty show with a breed entry of 90 + RR’s. He has done superbly with many placements in best male including BOB, BOS, BIG -2 and BIS. He is Swedish, Danish and Estonian champion.

Field tracking, spending time in the woods and beeing at home chasing our neighbours cat is the favourite things to do!
